The Shepherd's Hand

 Montrose, Colorado

 Statement of Purpose:

The Shepherd’s Hand is an interdenominational Christian

non-profit, offering a variety of services with unhoused or

economically vulnerable persons in mind. We attend to the

physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of people. We do this by

providing individuals and families with a safe environment,

providing food, clothing, a shower, clothes washing facilities,

temporary emergency housing and assistance in transitioning to

employment and/or one’s most appropriate step of life. To fulfill

this mission, we partner with agencies, supporters, and people of

all beliefs and political interests.

Our story

The Shepherd’s Hand was founded in response to the Biblical call

to “feed my sheep” (John 21:17), with a strong sense that this

“feeding” was to be lived out not merely by providing lunches, but

rather to make available a much wider range of services. In 2011

The Shepherd’s Hand was officially incorporated as a non-profit

with recognized 501c(3) status. The current facility was purchased

in 2022, making it possible to realize the breadth of this dream.
