Providing compassionate care & support to Montrose’s unhoused, helping rebuild lives.
The Shepherd’s Hand is a Christian nonprofit organization committed to serving the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of individuals experiencing homelessness or economic hardship. We provide a safe, welcoming space where people can access essential services, including meals, clothing, showers, laundry facilities, and faith-based conversations. We offer guidance in obtaining employment and shelter/housing. Our mission is made possible through the compassionate partnership of individuals and organizations who share our vision of hope, dignity, and transformation.
The Shepherd’s Hand was founded in response to the Biblical call
to “feed my sheep” (John 21:17), with a strong sense that this
“feeding” was to be lived out not merely by providing lunches, but
rather to make available a much wider range of services. In 2011
The Shepherd’s Hand was officially incorporated as a non-profit
with recognized 501c(3) status. The current facility was purchased
in 2022, making it possible to realize the breadth of this dream.
Shepherd's Hand is an approved 501c(3) organization and an agency of Food Bank of the Rockies, which provides food and essentials.
In 2013, the Colorado Department of Local Affairs recognized and awarded Shepherd’s Hand as a “mobilizing resource to support innovative solutions”.
